Muskingum River Boat and Motorcycles Poker Run

This event is being sponsored by our Marina and boating club, The Muskingum Valley Boating Association in south Zanesville, Ohio on Boat Dock Road, July 16th and 17th 2011. The marina has sponsored this poker run event for several years for boats, and has had a very good turnout of boaters in years past. But since so many of our members are into motorcycles they've suggested this year's poker run be expanded to include motorcycles also.

Our marina is registered as a nonprofit organization and this event has always been one of our major fund raising events. This is a laid back fun event, there is not any, real constraints of time involved except arrival back to our marina by 4:00 Sunday afternoon. In all reality if you're inclined and prepared you could enter and possibly win this event utilizing a canoe or kayak. The only real requirement of all the entrants of the event is to stop at all required points which will be marked by banners and get your entry card stamped. This will allow all contestants their choice of a nice slow relaxing cruise with a boatload of friends on the Muskingum River or bring your speedboat and complete the course in a few hours.

Our marina has a private boat ramp available for boaters who may be trailering and wishing to enter this event. Lock passes for our historical Muskingum River locks will also be available at our marina. So if any of you central Ohio boaters would like to visit and boat in the Muskingum River this will be a wonderful opportunity to do it, and bring a boatload of friends with you. I'll give you a little information here about our historical locks and dams. The Muskingum River locks are operated by courteous knowledgeable lock tenders employed by the Ohio State Parks Comm. and can be a good source of information on river conditions. The locks are all equipped with cables on the lock walls on which to hold boat position as required when locking through. All a boater really needs is a couple of boat hooks, or some good gloves to grasp the cables as the water rises /falls, and to carefully listen to any instructions from the lock tender. Passing through these historical locks is really a relatively painless event every boater should sometime experience.

For those of you who may interested in turning this event into an overnight excursion, there are a couple of options available. In Malta there are some motels available along with a few places that you can get something to eat and have a few cold ones. At the Port of Morgan also in Malta there are nice public restrooms with shower facilities available, and a place to tie off your boat for the night. If you're well provisioned there are also numerous safe places to anchor and spend the night in your boat if you're so inclined. Overnight camping will also be available at the marina Saturday night in our spacious yard under some huge trees overlooking the Muskingum River. And of course staying on your boat at our marina is another available option to you.

The motorcycle poker run will also be starting at the marina in Zanesville, Oh. and follow along the course of the river down to Malta utilizing the same stops as those who are running by boats. I'm sure there will be banners at locations and hopefully some sort of maps available for those who may not know the area that well. If you're looking for any more information on the bike poker run please contact us on information provided below. And of course you're welcome to camp at the marina also.

There may be sandwiches, sloppy joe's, dogs, etc. available throughout the day on Saturday. Cost or availability has not yet established on anything but we'll try to keep everything reasonable. Also remember all contestants entering the poker runs can purchase as many hands as desired and may the luck of the draw be with you. All precipitants hands must be in by close at 4:00 P.M. Sunday. You can contact us at smith.myrasmith.myra@gmail.com or you can also leave a comment on our blog and we will get back with you and attempt to answer any questions you may still have.

We take a lot of pride in our river resources and you'll observe little if any litter laying around anywhere. We also ask and expect others utilizing any recreational resources for that matter, Please pack it out. Do Not Litter.

Fuel / Gas will be available at the boat club during this special event and is always available for members.

Our Club is always accepting applications for membership please consider joining us.

Docking or dock space may also be available with membership plus we also do have a private ramp with safe parking always.

We'd like to thank you for your inquiry, but as you can tell from our sometimes slow response that our lives are sometimes what I'd call hectic to say the least. So unless somehow this site becomes a paying proposition that supports itself somehow, I'll haft to work elsewhere to gather the beans to somehow pay for it and keep it going for you to hopefully enjoy.

After seeing a close mate going trough a difficult moment because of a sickness caused by smoking cigarettes I made it my own quest to save as many other individuals as is possible from the exact same fate, but quickly I realized that no matter how great your arguments are it is actually very difficult to have a smoker give up smoking cigarettes, not because your arguments aren't sufficiently good and not necessarily because the smoker is not happy to stop but simply because smoking is really a even more addictive drug than heroin and cocaine (scientifically proven).

Next , I discovered that there's in fact a way to stop smoking with out stopping smoking, therefore give the smoker his / her pleasure and also habit but save him from the harmful effects of cigarettes.

The Things I am talking about are electric cigarettes. Read regarding all of the side effects associated with cigarettes and the way an electronic">http://electroniccigarette0.com/]electronic cigarette can help you quite smoking cigarettes or simply allow you to follow your current routine and obtain the kick without the damaging negative effects associated with smoking on my web-site http://electroniccigarette0.com

P.S. Hopefully this will not be erased because of having a link to my web-site as I just attempt to inform and help.

It is the norm for us to weed out and eliminate all the "SPAM" that comes into this site. And here of late the amount of it does seem to be increasing. I reviewed your site and it does appear to be "Just carrying a message" that is near and dear to you, and for this reason it's going to be allowed. We're attempting to give up the habit ourselves and realize how dirty and nasty the habit really is.

But to all Spammers you will be deleted no ifs and or buts about it, unless your potential "Spam" also carries a very good message.
